Chelsea are planning to sign their former attacker Tammy Abraham in the summer transfer window, according to Sport Witness. However, it won’t be a simple cash deal as the Premier League club aren’t willing to spend too much on the player.

The Blues are willing to offer Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on a loan deal to Roma, in a swap deal. The Belgian also remains keen on staying at the Italian club. However, Roma might not entertain the approach as they wouldn’t like to rate Abraham as same as Lukaku.

While the English striker enjoyed a good time in the initial two seasons. However, an ACL injury hasn’t allowed him to participate even in a single match this season. He returned to the bench in their last game against Sassuolo but didn’t take on the field.

Despite a fitness concern, Abraham remains a promising talent to capitalize on. He is good at giving through the ball and finishing in the final third. He has netted 36 goals and provided 12 assists for Roma in all the 107 that he has played so far.

Roma will demand good cash

Chelsea want to bolster their attacking unit ahead of next season as their current campaign hasn’t been fruitful. They understand that Romelu Lukaku has no future at the club and hence, they want to offload him as soon as possible. The pursuit of Tammy Abraham is a good move as the player knows the club very well.

However, the Blues will not trigger the £68 million buy-back clause for the English attacker. Roma, on the other hand, would demand some cash other than the Belgian striker to proceed with the transfer.
