Celtic legend Scott Brown hilariously trolled Fraser Forster after the English goalkeeper shared a picture after Spurs won the Europa League in Bilbao. Ange Postecoglou’s side beat Man Utd to win the trophy and secure Champions League football next season.
The 37-year-old picked up a medal after Brennan Johnson’s strike before halftime helped Ange fulfil his promise of silverware in his second campaign.
In a post on social media, Forster was beaming with his European medal before taking some flack from his former Celtic teammate and pal, Scott Brown.
Broony compared Forster to Marv (played by Daniel Stern) from the 1990 classic Home Alone.
Despite not being included in the 23-man squad for the knockout stages, and not featuring in the final itself, Forster made significant contributions during the group stage of the competition. Notably, Forster delivered a crucial performance in a 1–1 draw against Rangers at Ibrox, making a sensational last-minute save to deny a potential winner, which helped Spurs secure a vital point in the group stage.
Brown and Forster played together during their time at Celtic and contributed to success during Neil Lennon’s two spells in charge as manager. It is good to see Forster picking up a European winners medal, even if he wasn’t involved in the Final. It will be interesting to see if the big goalkeeper moves on this summer.
