Celtic FC Women confirm signing of Grace Courter

Celtic FC Women are delighted to confirm the signing of American centre-back, Grace Courter, on a two-year deal.

Arriving from Boston College in the US NCAA Division One, where she played alongside recent signing Aislin Streicek last season, the 22-year-old defender will add reinforcement to Elena Sadiku's defensive options.

Before her time at Boston College, Grace Courter spent three seasons at Gonzaga University. In her final year, she started all 20 matches for the Zags, leading the team with a career-high 1,706 minutes on the pitch.

Speaking on signing for the club, she said: "It feels amazing to have signed for Celtic and I just can't wait to get started.

'The girls have been super welcoming. I'm just really excited to be fully immersed in the Celtic community as a whole.'

"It's been a dream for a few years now, and I can't wait to show everybody what I've got. I just can't wait to step out on the field now with everyone."

Celtic FC Women Head Coach, Elena Sadiku, added: "Grace is a commanding centre-half who reads the game very well.

"She brings real composure to our backline, and I’m excited to see the impact she will have this season."
