According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Panos Katseris (22) is set to sign for Bournemouth from Serie B side US Catanzaro. Upon the completion of his move to the Premier League, the Greek winger is expected to be loaned out to the Cherries’ sister club in Ligue 1 Lorient.

The 22-year-old is set to cost the Premier League club a total fee of €3m. This will be broken down to an upfront fee of €2.4m with a further €600,000 in bonuses – a record fee received for his current club. Katseris isn’t the first player to sign for Bournemouth before making a loan switch to Les Merlus. Romain Faivre completed the same transfer path after signing from Lyon in the summer of 2023.

Lorient fend of Italian interest

Lorient were not the only team interested in signing the former NF Ardea winger, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. Several Italian clubs were also interested in signing Katseris. However, it is Lorient who have won the race for his signature.
