According to the Athletic, Leicester City centre-back Çağlar Söyüncü is set to sign a pre-contract agreement with LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid.
The Turkish international joined the Foxes from German side Freiburg in August 2018 for a fee believed to be in the region of €21.10m.
The 26-year-old has made 129 appearances for the East Midlands club and played a pivotal role in Leicester’s historic FA Cup win during the 2020/21 campaign.
Söyüncü fell out of favour with City’s previous head coach Brendan Rodgers and as such suffered limited game time this season.
However, since the arrival of interim head coach Dean Smith, the 53-capped international has started back-to-back games and it appears apparent he will play an important role in the final six matches of the season.
The Foxes moved out of the bottom three at the weekend following a 2-1 home victory versus Wolverhampton Wanders at the King Power Stadium and many fans were quick to praise the battling performance of Söyüncü.
Leicester face relegation-rivals Leeds United on Tuesday night before hosting 18th-placed Everton on Monday.
