La Liga strugglers Cádiz have today been dealt an altogether untimely blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that an important member of the club’s midfield ranks has picked up a serious injury.

The player in question? Rominigue Kouamé.

Defensive midfielder Kouamé, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Cádiz’s latest outing over the weekend.

After being afforded a starting berth in the middle of the park in Los Amarillos’ crunch relegation showdown with Granada, the 27-year-old lasted just 45 minutes, before being hauled off.

Kouamé, in turn, was put through a series of medical tests over the days since.

And, as per a statement across Cádiz’s official website and social media platforms, as much have given rise to confirmation of a ‘ruptured adductor’, enough to keep the Malian sidelined for the final months of the campaign:

‘Rominigue Kouamé has undergone medical tests after leaving last Friday’s match against Granada with an injury.

‘The results show a ruptured adductor tendon, which will force him to undergo surgery, causing him to miss the rest of the season.’
