Barcelona are facing a race against time to get their two new signings, Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford, registered before this weekend’s clash against Mallorca.

It was reported earlier that Rashford may even miss the opening clash due to the registration uncertainty.

As things stand, Barcelona are still in an economic soup and desperate need fresh revenue in order to return to the 1:1 rule.

Optimism in the Barcelona camp

However, a recent report from SPORT suggests that optimism is prevailing in the Barcelona camp, as far as the registration woes are concerned.

Indeed, the Catalan camp is fairly convinced that they will be able to register Rashford and Garcia well ahead of this weekend’s clash.

Garcia’s registration, in particular, remains the priority for Barça, who are expected to utilise 50% of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s salary to register the new goalkeeper.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are also in talks with La Liga, looking to speed things up in terms of financial checks and balances.

Barcelona are keen to know the salary margin they will be working with this season. The club already have Crowe’s report and are looking to validate three key financial levers.

One of them is the sale of the VIP seats at Camp Nou, along with the margin created by fresh sales. The final lever is the advertising contract with DR Congo.

Barcelona are hopeful that once all these things get cleared, the club will be able to register Rashford as well, perhaps even before the weekend clash against Mallorca.

The report adds that a personal guarantee is ready as a last resort option for Barcelona to return to the 1:1 rule.

But broadly, the club offices are confident that all players will be registered by the end of this week or next week.
