Friday’s fixture between Cadiz and Getafe was a crucial game in the La Liga relegation fight, with both sides firmly embroiled in the battle to avoid the drop.
Enes Unal scored twice from the penalty spot, including one in the 106th minute, to secure a point for the away side, but tempers flared following the Turkish international late strike.
The penalty was awarded for a handball by Alfonso Espino, and Cadiz were far from happy after the full time whistle was blown. The two sets of players were involved in an on-field melee, in which Cadiz keeper Jeremias Ledesma was involved.
In his match report, referee Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez alleges that Ledesma “pushed a teammate who was stuck to my back with the aim of hitting me”, according to Marca. If found guilty, the Argentine could be hit with a suspension ranging from four to twelve matches, as per article 145.3 of the RFEF’s disciplinary code.
Ledesma has been ever-present for Cadiz this season, and if he is found guilty, he would be a massive miss for the Andalusian club as they look to avoid relegation from La Liga.
