Derby battled to earn a point at Deepdale at the weekend and they’ll want to continue adding more points to their tally in this tie against Luton Town tonight.

The Rams dominated the first half against Preston on Saturday but couldn’t turn possession into goals.

As the game drew on, they struggled to gain a foothold in it again and very nearly lost the tie completely towards the end. However, the club managed to hold on for a clean sheet and a draw and are now well on their way to pushing out of the relegation places.

A win against Luton would go a long way towards pulling them out of the mire a lot sooner – but it won’t be easy by any means when they come up against the Hatters.

Although Derby looked solid against PNE and rightfully earned a point, there could be one or two minor tweaks and rotations for Wayne Rooney’s men though as they look to get all three points on Tuesday night.

It would be hard to drop any player from the side that claimed a point against Preston and even harder to drop any defender who played their part in claiming a clean sheet in that fixture.

However, it looks likely that Nathan Byrne comes back into the side at right-back despite how well Festy Ebosele performed against the Lilywhites.

With the most dribbles and tackles of anyone in the entire fixture, it would be really hard to drop him but Byrne has been relied upon in every game before his ban so a rotation might be on the cards in that position for the Rams.

In attack, the only change could be Colin Kazim-Richards in for Sam Baldock. The latter of the two was forced off through injury against Preston but with it only being a facial injury, he could likely play against Luton.

However, with Kazim-Richards back fit and able to come on and play a part against PNE, he could be given a much more integral part to play on Tuesday.
