BVB are set to receive around €5m-€6m for the defender who is set to return to his native country.

Last week, our colleagues at Get Belgian and Dutch Football reported that the 31-year-old had attracted the interest from the Belgium side.

A former Club Brugge player, Meunier was sold to PSG back in 2011 before joining BVB in 2021. With just 12 months left on his current contract, the Belgium side have snapped at the chance at reuniting with the player.

Having fallen out of favour at Dortmund and with a desire to still play, Brugge is an attractive option. What’s more, with Clinton Mata set for a move to Lyon, Meunier would be the club’s new starting right-sided defender.

Meunier is expected to sign a contract until 2025 and will soon reach 200 appearances for the Belgian side having left on 198 competitive games. During his first stint at the club, the defender scored 20 goals and proved 22 assists.
