🇩🇪 Bochum shock Bayern Munich for stunning comeback win | OneFootball

Bochum hosted Bayern Munich on Saturday and pulled off one of the shocks of the season with a 4-2 win.

Scorers: Antwi-Adjei 14′, Locadia 38′ (P), Gamboa 40′, Holtmann 44′; Lewandowski 9′, 75′

Despite having less than half the amount of points as Bayern Munich, it was evident Bochum came prepared to give the league leaders a run for their money right from kick-off.

In typical Bayern fashion, Robert Lewandowski found the breakthrough for the visitors early on despite falling over in the same motion. Almost immediately after, however, things took a turn.

A slick counter-attack saw the hosts equalise when Christopher Antwi-Adjei caused a headache for Niklas Süle and curled his effort past Sven Ulreich.

His strike then kick-started an incredible run as the hosts found multiple ways to exploit some shaky defending from Bayern.

A handball from Dayot Upamecano allowed Jürgen Locadia to give his side the lead from the spot then a few nutmegs and long-distance strikes from Cristian Gamboa and Gerrit Holtmann saw Bayern concede four goals in the first half for the first time since 1976.

As time went on Bochum’s dominance continued and they came close to adding more to their tally while the likes of Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané, and Kingsley Coman struggled to find their scoring touch.

Lewandowksi was able to make things a two-goal game with roughly 15 minutes to go but the first half thrashing proved to be too much.

The result means Dortmund have a chance to close the gap to six points while Bochum move up to 11th.
