According to Voetbal International, Blackburn Rovers are closing in on the signing of Jeffrey de Lange from Go Ahead Eagles. The 26-year-old stood out as one of the best shot stoppers in the Eredivisie last season, keeping 11 clean sheets in 34 league appearances last term. Ajax were also interested in De Lange this summer but the Dutchman wants to be a first choice goalkeeper in the Championship rather than backup in Amsterdam.

Jeffrey de Lange’s current contract at Go Ahead Eagles is valid until the summer of 2026, which means Blackburn have to meet an asking price. Go Ahead have already lost some crucial players this summer with Willum Thór Willumsson joining Birmingham City, Bas Kuipers signing for Twente and Philippe Rommens moving to Ferencváros.

Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink reports that Blackburn also made a move for PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Joël Drommel this summer. The 27-year-old has struggled for game time under Peter Bosz and is regularly linked with a move away from the Philips Stadion. However, Blackburn have opted for Jeffrey de Lange.
