Blackburn Rovers ‘would jump at the chance’ to re-sign Harvey Elliott this summer, according to reports from the Lancashire Telegraph.

The young winger spent all of last season on loan at Ewood Park and put in some very impressive performances along the way.

That included scoring seven goals and creating 11 more for the club in a campaign that established him as one of the Championship’s most creative players.

As a result Anfield Central have reported that Premier League newcomers Brentford and Watford could be lining up a loan move for the player this summer as they look to give the 18-year-old a route into Premier League football.

Elliott is likely to be a hot property this summer with Blackburn also keen to bring the player back, but it seems that any interested parties may have to be patient if they’re to get their man.

The Lancashire Telegraph are claiming that Liverpool are keen to take a good look at the 18-year-old this summer as they weigh up their plans for him.

Elliott is set to get an opportunity to impress Jurgen Klopp during pre-season before the Reds make a decision on what is best for the youngster as he continues his rise to the top of the game.

First team opportunities are likely to be limited at Anfield, but should a spot present itself then Klopp will be keen to hand the youngster an opportunity to impress.

Did these 19 things happen at Blackburn Rovers in 2020/21?

The verdict

Blackburn Rovers will probably be reluctant to hang their hopes on this deal.

Liverpool have every right to take their time when it comes to making a decision over Harvey Elliott’s future as it’s crucial that they do the best thing for his development.

Put simply, it’s going to be a big ask for Blackburn Rovers to tempt the player back to Ewood Park.

With Brentford and Watford both keen on a move it could be difficult to wrap a deal up and so perhaps Tony Mowbray should focus his efforts elsewhere.
