Despite being sacked by KV Mechelen a few weeks ago, Besnik Hasi has managed to land himself a job in the top six. Today Anderlecht announced that David Hubert has been sacked, with Hasi coming in as his immediate replacement. This will be his second stint at the club and he is under contract for the play-offs, although performances may trigger an extension to the deal.

As a result, the former Mechelen man has turned down a move to Cercle Brugge, one that was pretty much done until Anderlecht made the call. Hasi was said to be on his way to Belgium to sign the deal in Brugge before he was offered the job in Brussels. Cercle will now have to act fast to find a replacement, with the international break at least giving them some time before the play-offs begin. Remarkably, Hasi has managed to swap fighting for survival in the bottom four for fighting for a European ticket in the top six.
