It hasn’t taken Benjamin Pavard long to realise the difference in quality between old club Stuttgart and Bayern Munich.
The 23-year-old arrived this summer from the relegated VfB and has quickly learned how tough life is in Bavaria.
In an interview with Sky, Pavard discussed the transition between life in Stuttgart to his time with the German champions.
“It is clearly a different dimension compared to VfB because everything is bigger,” he said.
“I do still watch all of their games as Stuttgart opened the door to Bayern for me and now I’m living in another world.
“When I played away with Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena, that’s when I first became aware [of Bayern’s size].
“I walked down the corridors of the stadium and thought ‘this is a club with incredible history, I want to play here’.
“Without question, Bayern are the best club in Germany, if not the best in the world.”
Pavard made himself an early hero at his new stomping grounds too, scoring his first goal to equalise in the 6-1 win over Mainz.
