Roma striker Andrea Belotti downplayed his team’s second-placed finish in Group G of the Europa League following their 3-0 victory over Sheriff this evening.

The Giallorossi capped-off the group stage with an easy win over the Moldovan side, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Slavia Praha, who won the group with 15 points.

“Obviously we wanted to win the group and didn’t succeed,” Belotti told Sky Sport.

“But it’s not a tragedy because last year we finished second in the group and went into the playoff round. This year won’t be any different, we’ll be ready.”

He continued, “Are we more focused on top four (in Serie A)? This team is growing and improving from a physical, mental, and playing-style point of view every single day in training.

“Our objective is always the same no matter the competition: to win and bring home three points every time we take the pitch. We’ve got some really important matches upcoming in the league, so we’re going to need everyone to be prepared and ready.”

“No Dybala? We all know his qualities, he’s a guy that can create a scoring chance out of nothing. Obviously the situation changes when he’s out and you have to change the way you play a bit.”
