Now, as he pushes for a place in the PSV first team, Noah Fernandez has admitted his love for FC Barcelona and his desire to play for the club.

In a recent interaction with Niewsblad, he said (h/t SPORT), “I’ve been a Barcelona fan since I was a kid, because of their football. My dream is to play there one day and win the Champions League. Also the World Cup with Belgium.”

Noah Fernandez went on to name two Barcelona legends, Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho, as two of his idols, although he also admitted he likes Cristiano Ronaldo as well.

“I want to entertain people, like Ronaldinho, my greatest idol. I enjoyed his dribbling and his joy for the game. I was always a Messi fan, although I switched to Ronaldo. At first, I didn’t like him, but he has an admirable mentality,” he revealed.

Fernandez’s statements will serve as music to Barcelona’s ears, should the Catalans think of making a move for the PSV Eindhoven youngster sometime in the future.

Right now, at age 17, the youngster still has a lot to prove within the Dutch footballing pyramid before he can be considered a serious option for Barça.

To that end, the upcoming season could prove to be a crucial one for Noah as he pushes for a place in the first team and a potential breakthrough in senior football.

That said, Barcelona have done an excellent job in unearthing hiddem gems in recent years so it won’t be surprising at all to see the Catalans keep a closer eye on Noah’s progression in the coming years.
