Belgian international set to depart Cercle Brugge for Werder Bremen

HLN are reporting that Olivier Deman is currently in Germany where he is undergoing a medical with Werder Bremen. The 23-year-old was also subject of interest from Antwerp after the departure of Gaston Avila to Ajax, however he is now set for a move to the Bundesliga. This year, Deman one his first international cap for the senior Red Devils side. According to HLN, the initial deal will be €4m, but this could rise to €5m.

Deman has spent the entirety of his career with Cercle Brugge. Since making his debut in 2018, the midfielder has made 93 appearances, scoring four goals and five assists. Werder Bremen are getting a versatile player who can play on either side of midfielder, at full-back, further forward as a winger or more centrally as an attacking midfielder.

Cercle Brugge already have replacements for the departing Deman. Alan Minda has already shown his ability with a goal and an assist in his previous two games. They also brought in Kazeem Olaigbe from Southampton this week.
