BBC journalist’s damning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer assessment suggests end could be near | OneFootball

Manchester United have extended their poor run of form and are now winless in their last three Premier League games, with pressure mounting on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

His side started the season well, winning four and drawing one game out of their opening five league games. Manchester United’s fortunes took a turn for the worse three weeks ago when Aston Villa won at Old Trafford, with a draw against Everton and defeat to Leicester following it.

Solskjaer has been backed by the Old Trafford hierarchy since his permanent appointment in 2019 but the penny could be about to drop after a particularly poor performance against the Foxes.

Despite equalising in the 82nd minute, Solskjaer’s side lost the game and now find themselves with only 14 points after eight games.

BBC journalist Simon Stone gave a damning assessment of Solskjaer’s job security, claiming he would lose his job if United’s run of losses continue, as seen above.

“One of the questions still hanging over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was whether he could make big decisions,” Stone wrote on Twitter. “Might be about to find out. Managers rely on results. If he feels he has better chance of getting them without big names, has to leave them out. If (Man) Utd keep losing, eventually he will lose his job.”

As things stand, the end of United’s winless run is not in sight, and should next week’s game against Liverpool end in defeat, Solskjaer will be under huge pressure.
