Bayern Munich pushing to sign La Liga defender who Real Madrid can sign for €8 million | OneFootball

Real Madrid are preparing to reinforce their team this summer, with three major signings, out of which two are from Ligue 1.

The first one, of course, is Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman is set to leave PSG at the end of the season, and his likely destination seems to be Real Madrid.

Lille’s Leny Yoro is another player Madrid want to sign this summer, although his asking price of €70-100 million makes him a difficult acquisition.

The third player is Alphonso Davies, who seems reluctant to renew his contract at Bayern Munich under his current salary, and wants a jump to €20 million annually.

Signing the Canadian will cost Madrid nearly €40-50 million given he is on the last year of his contract.

Gutierrez on the move?

At the same time, Madrid are also considering bringing back Miguel Gutierrez from Girona, who will cost them no more than €8 million due to the buy-back clause in his contract. But he is also on the radar of Bayern Munich, according to MARCA.

With Thomas Tuchel set to leave the club at the end of the season, the Bavarians are considering pursuing the signing of Zinedine Zidane, especially after Xabi Alonso’s refusal to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Zidane gave Gutierrez his breakthrough at Madrid during the 2020/21 season, and will likely push for his signing over the line for Bayern, as well.

What can be Madrid’s gameplan here?

Given that they want to pursue Alphonso Davies in the summer, Madrid can potentially avoid paying any money for the Canadian if they buy back Gutierrez from Girona and include him in a swap deal for the Bayern defender.

While Davies has a higher market price to his name, Bayern would potentially not want to lose him on free next season and could slash the price to get Gutierrez in exchange.

Alternatively, both teams could pay nearly €40 million in transfer fees to each other and balance the books on paper.
