With no fixture this weekend due to the international break, Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann was forced to get creative in a bid to maintain his team’s rhythm.

Bayern face RB Leipzig in their next match on 5 February and according to Bild, the Bundesliga leaders warmed up with an internal match at the club’s Säbener Straße training base on Friday.

A referee and two linesmen were brought in especially for the game and most of Bayern’s first-team were involved, with the exception of Robert Lewandowski, Leon Goretzka, Alphonso Davies, Bouna Sarr and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Josip Stanišić reportedly played the full match while Gabriel Vidović is said to have alternated with Paul Wanner.

Bild’s report also added that Nagelsmann has now given his players three days off, and preparations for the Leipzig game will resume on Tuesday.
