Bayern Munich remain confident of reaching an agreement with David Alaba over an extension to the defender’s contract.
According to Sport BILD, the Bundesliga champions are hopeful of a deal despite an unsuccessful meeting with the player and his advisors last week.
The 28-year-old’s current contract expires in June 2021 and BILD believe its the Austrian’s financial demands that are holding up an agreement at the moment.
Alaba is believed to want a contract that would make him the highest-earning player at Bayern.
Alaba has reinvented himself as a centre-back this season due to the injury of Lucas Hernandez and emergence of Alphonso Davies at left-back.
He has made 28 appearances as Hansi Flick’s stormed to an eighth consecutive Bundesliga title.
