According to a recent update from SPORT, Barcelona captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen is deeply upset by how the club is handling his future.
The German goalkeeper feels hurt and surprised by a series of leaks that appear to be aimed at pushing him out of the club, and is now ready to go to war, so much so that he does not intend to negotiate anything with the club.
With Barça moving closer to signing Joan Garcia, it is clear that Ter Stegen’s role is under serious threat.
Once Garcia’s transfer is completed, Deco will meet with Ter Stegen and his camp to explain the club’s decision. Barça will try to negotiate a peaceful exit, but it will not be easy.
Ter Stegen has no intention of walking away quietly. He feels this situation is not about sporting reasons but a personal attack on him.
Despite all the noise, Ter Stegen has chosen not to speak publicly. However, behind the scenes, he is angry and feels betrayed.

He believes that private dressing room matters have been leaked to the press by the club to pressure him into leaving quietly. He has a valid contract until 2028 and does not plan to give it up.
If this had happened after the 2026 World Cup, he says he would have understood. But the way it has been handled now has left him feeling disrespected.
The goalkeeper suspects both sporting director Deco and new coach Hansi Flick are behind the decision.
He claims there is no trust or connection with Flick and that things changed for the worse after his injury. Ter Stegen worked hard to return ahead of schedule, hoping to help the team, only to be left out.
Barcelona are even offering to pay him one year’s salary if he agrees to give up the remaining two, but Ter Stegen is standing firm. He plans to return for pre-season and fight for his place.
This situation is shaping into a major problem for Barça, especially for Flick and Garcia, who may arrive in the middle of a storm not of his own making. At the moment, Ter Stegen is ready for battle and it won’t be a quiet one.
