A fresh insight into the future of Barcelona talent Ansu Fati has been provided on Friday.

And the info points towards the attacker’s future, for next season at least, lying away from Catalunya once more.

Ansu, of course, was farmed out on loan last summer, linking up with Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion in an effort to rediscover his best form.

The initial hope was that, in the case of as much playing out, the Spanish international would return to base with Barcelona this coming summer, with a view to a place in the first-team setup at the Camp Nou next season.

Once more, however, the chronic fitness issues plaguing his fledgling career have thrown a spanner in the works.

Ansu has spent much of the campaign to date on the sidelines, meaning he is yet to return to the kind of level required to force his way back into the plans of his parent club.

As per a report from Diario Sport, as much means that ‘the reality is that everything indicates that he will be loaned out for one more season’.

A 2nd stint with Brighton looks the most realistic option as things stand.

This comes with Seagulls boss Roberto De Zerbi a firm believer in the talents of the 21-year-old, adamant that, under the watch of the Italian, he can rediscover his explosive best.

Another interesting layer to the situation, though, is the fact that De Zerbi is one of the final names on the shortlist of managerial targets drawn up by the Barcelona brass with a view to the summer.

In the case of the former Sassuolo boss being handed the reins in Catalunya’s capital, he would without question be in favour of Ansu staying put.
