With the month of July almost coming to an end, Barcelona have one more month to finish their squad building and make sure each and every player is registered in time.
However, the club are still facing economic woes, which are not helped by the fact that the Camp Nou project is taking longer than expected.
Barcelona are hopeful of using certain levers to return to the 1:1 rule and may even rely on Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s absence to register the new signings.
However, a recent report from SPORT has revealed how Barcelona are potentially staring at the possibility of a big sale in August if they can’t secure the economic levers.
The club are confident that current cost-saving measures and squad salary reductions may be enough to comply with La Liga’s financial regulations, but there remains an air of uncertainty.

While the ter Stegen salary lever is an option, it could come at the expense of an escalation of tension between the club and the player, which has already hit rock bottom.
Keeping that in mind, the possibility of a big-money exit is looming. Such a move would instantly solve Barcelona’s financial bottleneck and could even allow for another signing before the transfer window closes.
As per the report, Deco and the club’s hierarchy already have several players marked for potential exits, particularly those with limited roles in Hansi Flick’s plans.
The said list of players could include the likes of Andreas Christensen, Oriol Romeu and perhaps even Ronald Araujo and Fermin Lopez, as Barcelona desperately look for fresh sources of revenue.
While it won’t be easy to convince players to leave, Barça must find a way to accelerate these exits if they are to find the right economic balance and return to stability.
