FC Barcelona have officially announced the travelling squad for their La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano.

The biggest update is that Wojciech Szczesny has been successfully registered with La Liga. The Polish goalkeeper, who will wear the number 25 shirt, is now available for selection in tonight’s clash.

However, Roony Bardghji has not been included in the squad. The winger is still waiting for clearance from the club’s management to feature with the first team.

Barcelona are determined not to use him with a reserve team card, so his official debut will have to wait.

Key Returns and youthful inclusion

Another important inclusion is Gerard Martin, who was officially registered with the number 18 shirt after Oriol Romeu’s contract termination last week.

Meanwhile, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Bernal and Gavi are ruled out through injury. Gavi is nursing a knee problem that will also keep him away from the Spanish national team.

Frenkie de Jong returns to the squad after missing the Levante match due to rest. The Dutch midfielder had also skipped two training sessions following the birth of his second child, but he is now back and ready to contribute.

Young goalkeeper Diego Kochen has also been called up as the third-choice option. Alongside him, three more reserve players – left-back Jofre Torrents, midfielder Pedro Fernandez and Toni Fernandez – have been included with reserve team cards.

Fermin Lopez, who has been attracting strong interest from Chelsea, trained normally with his teammates on Saturday.

Despite all the transfer noise, he remains focused on the team. His future will likely be settled by Monday, September 1, when the transfer window closes.
