A headline member of the first-choice XI at La Liga giants Barcelona has grown increasingly unhappy with his position on the pitch.
That’s according to Tot Costa, who point towards Andreas Christensen as the player in question.
Danish international Christensen has of course been forced to adapt to a new role in boss Xavi’s squad over the course of recent months.
Owing to the hole at the base of Barcelona’s midfield amid the struggles of summer signing Oriol Romeu, the former Chelsea man was moved forward into the middle of the park, from his usual berth at the heart of defence.
And Christensen, to his credit, has responded in impressive fashion, adding some much-needed stability to the Blaugrana’s engine room ranks.
In turn, it will no doubt come as a source of concern to hear that, in fact, the 28-year-old is not enjoying his new role.
As per the aforementioned Tot Costa, Christensen has grown ‘uncomfortable’ in midfield, eager to return to his natural spot at the back.
He is understood to have made as much clear to his teammates in the dressing room on multiple occasions.
The issue, however, should not be one for much longer, with Barcelona expected to bring in a specialised ‘pivot’ in the summer, allowing Christensen to be shifted back into defence.
