According to a report from SPORT, it has come to light that Barcelona have decided to hold off on their pursuit of Luis Diaz for a few days or even weeks.
This pause comes after the sad passing of Diogo Jota, which has affected the mood at Liverpool.
Barça do not want to appear insensitive or pushy during such a difficult time for the English club. They hope that giving it some time will help ease talks later.
Before this, Barcelona were focused on bringing in Nico Williams. They believed for weeks that a deal could happen. But Nico’s recent 10-year contract extension with Athletic Club changed everything.
His decision to stay has forced Barça to look elsewhere to strengthen their attack. Although the club was disappointed at first, they have now accepted the situation and are moving forward calmly.

According to the outlet, sporting director Deco is back to working on the Diaz option, but he knows it will not be easy.
Unlike Nico, Diaz does not have a release clause, and Liverpool are not keen on selling him right now.
The English club would want at least €70-80 million to consider letting him go. On top of this, Liverpool have just gone through a tough time with the loss of Jota, making talks even harder.
Barcelona understand the complexity of the situation but have not given up hope. They believe that Diaz wants to come to Camp Nou and that his agent has already shared this wish with Deco.
While a deal will not happen right away, Barça think it could be possible in August. They know Liverpool spent more than €200 million recently, which might make them more open to offers later.
For now, Barça will wait patiently, hoping the right moment comes to bring Diaz to Barcelona and strengthen their squad for the new season.
