Barcelona are set to resume their campaign this weekend as they play host to Las Palmas at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

Although it is a must-win game for the Catalans if they are to remain alive in the title race, Xavi Hernandez will also have one eye on the April 10 encounter against Paris Saint-Germain.

In addition to the PSG encounter, Xavi will also keep in mind that there are several players who are returning from international duty and might be worn for this weekend’s clash.

Xavi to rotate the squad vs Las Palmas

Keeping these things in mind, Xavi Hernandez is likely to ring in the changes as Barcelona takes on Las Palmas this weekend.

This is according to Toni Juanmarti, who also suggests that Barcelona are set to be boosted by the return of Ferran Torres.

While it remains to be seen whether Torres starts against Las Palmas, coach Xavi might want to give opportunities to players who did not see much action during the international break.

That could see players such as Sergi Roberto, Inigo Martinez and perhaps even Marcos Alonso get some game-time in the defensive unit.

After all, there are doubts over the availability of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen due to minor niggles.

In midfield and attack, Oriol Romeu, Joao Felix and Vitor Roque are among the players in contention to receive starts against Las Palmas.

Roque, in particular, was snubbed from the Brazilian squad this week and will be keen on making an impression, especially after a slow start to his Barcelona career.

With Robert Lewandowski returning with a mild knock from international duty, it might make sense for the manager to start with Roque.

Xavi, though, might not rotate on a large scale, knowing the first-team players must retain the winning momentum if they are to do well against PSG early next month.
