After defeating Barcelona in the most recent Clasico, Real Madrid appears ready to surpass their bitter rivals once more, this time in the competition to recruit a young prodigy.

Mayorau favors Madrid over Barcelona

Indeed, as per MARCA an immensely talented 12-year-old prospect named Aliaksei Mayorau has lured the attention of many elite clubs and has shown a preference toward Real Madrid.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been attempting to sign the child of Belarusian descent who is making waves in Catalonia.

Aliaksei Mayorau is still playing 7-a-side, but his style of play and natural ability to rattle the back of the net have drawn interest from not just Spanish teams, but all over Europe.

Barcelona made every effort to persuade the boy’s family that the Catalan club was where he was meant to be. In fact, this season, Aliaksei even watched one of Barça’s games from the Montjuïc box.

But Mayorau and his entourage are fully committed to Real Madrid’s project, with all other interested parties unable to land his signature.

As for the youngster’s signing with Madrid, there are no issues related to age or origin since he resides in Spain, allowing him to switch teams without complications.

However, the Merengues have requested all relevant documentation to avoid any unforeseen issues. The club is extensive with these details when signing a minor.

This is not the first time Real Madrid and Barcelona have battled it out for the same targets as examples of players like Endrick, Arda Guler, and Pablo Torre spring to mind.
