For the next few months, one of the tasks that FC Barcelona will have on their hands will be to renew several of their important players’ contracts that are ending in 2026.

One of these players is the midfielder Pedri, who turned 22 years old only this Monday, and whose contract renewal is one of the top priorities of this Barcelona management.

Both Barcelona and the player’s entourage want to arrive at an agreement as soon as possible, and for this purpose, Mundo Deportivo reports that the Deco and Pedri’s agent, Hector Peris, undertook a meeting yesterday.

In this meeting, considerable progress was made towards reaching an agreement. The meeting ended with great feelings on both sides, and the negotiations are going on the right track.

The first contacts for Pedri’s renewal were taken back in April, and Barcelona now want to arrive at a more formal understanding about the aspects that have already been verbally agreed between the two parties.

Furthermore, there are some aspects of the contract that still need to be agreed, the most important of which is the length of the contract, which looks likely to go up to 2030 or 2031 now, after earlier indications of going till 2029.

Recently, the Spanish midfielder commented on his renewal negotiations and assured that everything was on the right track. Deco has also previously commented that one of his wishes as the Sporting Director of Barcelona is to extend the contracts of Pedri and Gavi, so the future of these important players at the Catalan club is assured.

Furthermore, the Canary Islander’s performances this season have also been top-notch, as he is once again at his best level, both tactically and physically. His importance in the team is clear from the fact that he is one of the five players who have played all 19 games with Barcelona this season, along with Raphinha, Lewandowski, Kounde, and Cubarsi.
