Barcelona could soon see their second exit of the ongoing January transfer window as they have entered talks with Sporting CP over the sale of Hector Bellerin, reports Helena Condis of COPE.

The right-back arrived at Barça in the summer on a free transfer, but has failed to perform at the level expected. Indeed, Bellerin has failed to establish himself under Xavi Hernandez, with the manager opting for others like Sergi Roberto, Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo ahead of him.

As a result, Bellerin has been restricted to just seven appearances across all competitions this term. The former Arsenal vice-captain had signed just a one-year contract upon returning to Barcelona and the club have no plans to offer an extension.

Considering his current plight, Bellerin is open to leaving Camp Nou right away, which is where Sporting enter the picture.

The Portuguese giants are looking for a new right-back as a replacement for the Tottenham-bound Pedro Porro.

Bellerin has emerged as a target for Ruben Amorim’s side, with the Barcelona defender also said to be open to a move to Portugal.

Now, both clubs are said to have engaged in talks over a possible move for the 27-year-old Spanish right-back.

With six months left on Bellerin’s contract, Barcelona will demand a fee for his sale as they did with Memphis Depay’s transfer to Atletico Madrid, instead of letting him leave for free.

With not much time left for the transfer window to close, things will have to move at a fast pace for Bellerin to secure a move away to Sporting CP.
