Some big movements are definitely expected at FC Barcelona this summer, and work is already being done on them. Ultimately, the Catalan giants aim to create a competitive squad for next season. To do that, Barcelona will certainly need to reinforce themselves as much as possible.

With rival teams looking to get stronger, Barça can not afford to be left behind. While they managed to dominate opponents this season and win a domestic treble in Spain, the Catalan giants aspire to do even better next season.

Barcelona are starting to make moves

In order to justify such ambitions, Barcelona have already even renewed the contracts of some of their most important players. Raphinha has extended his stay at the club until 2028, and Lamine Yamal also recently put pen to paper on a new deal that will expire in 2031.

However, new signings are also something that Barcelona are keeping in mind. One such summer transfer target for them remains Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who was outstanding in La Liga this previous season and is being continuously linked to Barcelona right now.

Joan Garcia already has an offer on the table

According to Mundo Deportivo, however, a major step in that transfer saga has already been taken. Barcelona have already put their offer on the table for the player to assess and go over, and the terms of the proposed arrangement have been clearly laid out as well.

Moreover, there is reportedly already a preliminary agreement in place with the player’s agents already as well. Still, the final decision lies with the player himself and he will likely make a final decision soon as to where he would like to take the next step in his career.

The terms of the proposal

As for the terms of the current contract, Barcelona have reportedly offered the player a five-year deal with performance-related bonuses involved. One of them is related to a National team call-up with Spain, and it is similar to a pre-existing clause in his Espanyol contract.

Interestingly, the player confessed in a recent interview that he would not object to potentially playing against Espanyol in the future. This quote certainly does have interesting timing, and it remains to be seen what final decision Garcia ends up making with interest from Barcelona and other clubs as well.
