With a successful season coming to an end for FC Barcelona, those at the club are busy planning the squad for the next campaign as they aim to go a step further and conquer Europe in 2025/26.

As part of the plans, Barça are targeting a move for RCD Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia in the upcoming transfer window.

And with Wojciech Szczesny also set to renew his contract for at least one more year, there is a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the future of captain and No. 1 Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The German international, who returned from a lengthy injury absence towards the end of the season, is also facing pressure from fans, who have launched a social media campaign demanding his exit.

However, according to SPORT (h/t Carpetas FCB), Ter Stegen has, so far, not given any indication that he might be considering leaving Barcelona amidst the pressure and the rumours.

As mentioned above, a section of Barça fans have started a ‘#TerStegenOut’ campaign on X, which was even trending globally over the past couple of days.

The German international has been a divisive figure for a large part of his 11-year-long stint at Barcelona. And with the prospect of signing Garcia from Espanyol looming some fans have turned on the Blaugrana captain.

Despite all the noise surrounding him and his future, Ter Stegen has so far shown no signs of wanting to move on from Barcelona.

The 33-year-old has a contract with Barça until 2028 and recently stated that he is feeling very well after his long-term absence due to a knee injury.

“I have improved a lot. In the last eleven years, I have never been better physically. I feel better than ever,” he stated in a Barça One documentary revolving around his return from injury.

However, should the La Liga champions go ahead and rope Garcia in from Espanyol, things could get interesting as Ter Stegen will be eager to retain his No. 1 spot in what will be a World Cup year.
