La Liga leaders Barcelona look set for an imminent boost on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that two sidelined members of the club’s first-team ranks are closing on respective returns to the pitch.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Ansu Fati and Frenkie de Jong as the players in question.

The name of wide-man Ansu has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.

This comes after photos of the 21-year-old back on the grass at Barcelona’s training ground came to the fore online:

Ansu, for the time being, is training away from the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad, but the hope is that he will be able to make use of the international break to rejoin group activities.

With midfielder Frenkie de Jong having been ramping up his fitness for several weeks now, too, Marca therefore conclude that:

‘Hansi Flick’s forecasts are that both Fati and Frenkie de Jong will be able to join the team after this international break.’

Should this prove to be the case, the duo could in turn take their respective places in Barcelona’s matchday squad to face Catalan neighbours Girona, on September 15th.
