Two weeks ago, Dinamo Zagreb star Dani Olmo made his Spain debut and scored in a 24-minute cameo against Malta.
The 21-year-old number 10 has also helped the Croatians make an impressive showing in this year’s Champions League and now Zagreb have a chance to advance out of the group stage for the first time in the club’s history.
His thrilling performances for Zagreb and Spain at various levels have seen his side reject offers of up to €30m in the past, but it could soon be time to cash in on their prized asset.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona believe they are in ‘full control’ of Dani Olmo’s future and are confident he will choose to go to Catalonia over other high-profile clubs.
Olmo was in the Barcelona academy for seven years and left for Zagreb on a free transfer in 2014, where he has since become their top star.
It’s also said that Barcelona are in contact with Olmo’s father on a near-weekly basis and that Bojan Krkic Sr., father of the former Barcelona starlet and current Barcelona scout, is constantly keeping tabs on the player in Croatia.
Olmo has been a force for Zagreb, scoring six goals and providing six assists in 19 games while guiding his side to the top of the 1. HNL table.
