In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Barcelona are eyeing another loan move for Joao Felix who is currently playing on loan from Atletico Madrid next summer. It is understood that the Catalan are planning to arrange another loan deal for him at the end of this campaign with an obligation to buy the Portuguese attacker in 2025.

Felix’s Impressive Loan Spell At Barcelona So Far

Felix is enjoying a good loan spell at the Nou Camp as he has managed to put in a handful of productive displays on the left side of Xavi’s frontline. The Viseu-born talent has found the back of the net on three occasions and picked up four assists in 14 matches for Barca this season across multiple competitions.

The Portugal international has been a good performer in the final third based on his average of 2.4 shots, 0.9 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been accurate when distributing possession in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 85.5% in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).

Felix’s loan spell at Barca will run down at the end of this season. Hence, it is only logical for the Catalan club to try and arrange another deal for him next summer.

Felix can engineer some space for himself and usually keeps his shots on-target. He can be a streaky goal-getter in front of the opponent’s goal and has got the quickness to cause a lot of headaches for his marker out in the wide areas.

The Portuguese sensation can also create some decent chances for others around him in the attacking end of the pitch. He has mainly played as a left-winger for Barca but can also fill in as a centre-forward if asked to do so.

Felix has what it takes to be a success story at the Nou Camp in the long run. Thus, it seems like a good move for both the Catalan club and the player to extend their time together next summer.

Felix could help Barcelona challenge for a lot of major honours over the next decade. At 24, he has his best years ahead of him, so Xavi should focus on signing him on loan again next year with a view of recruiting him permanently in 2025.
