Leading figures from Spanish football’s two biggest clubs have been included in the France national team squad for the upcoming European Championships.

Didier Deschamps’ star-studded ranks for this summer’s Euros were unveiled a short time ago.

Safe to say, the World Cup-winning tactician had some tough calls to make, with arguably the game’s deepest pool of international talent at his disposal.

In the end, Deschamps opted to leave out the likes of Michael Olise, Malo Gusto, and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Front and centre in Les Bleus’ 25-man squad, on the other hand, are headline members of the first-team ranks at both Real Madrid, and Barcelona.

From the former, all of Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Ferland Mendy get the nod. Soon-to-be Real frontman Kylian Mbappé will also act as France’s captain at Euro 2024.

Turning attentions towards Barcelona, Jules Koundé is the sole inclusion, just rewards for a much-improved 2nd half of the season.

Atlético Madrid talisman Antoine Griezmann, meanwhile, is also in line to play a central role at the summer showpiece in Germany.

The other headline news comes in the form of N’Golo Kanté’s call-up, the midfielder’s first since all the way back in 2022.
