Indian Super League club ATK Mohun Bagan have announced the signing of Australian defender Brendan Hamill for the 2022-23 season from A-League side Melbourne Victory.

A statement handed out by Melbourne Victory read, "Melbourne Victory can confirm that defender Brendan Hamill will depart the Club to join Indian Super League side ATK Mohun Bagan FC for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Hamill was an important part of our A-League Men’s 2021/22 squad, making 20 appearances for the Club across all competitions, including our victorious Australia Cup Final win. The club would like to thank Brendan for his contribution and wish him and his family the best for the future."

The 29-year-old defender is primarily a centre-back, having a wealth of experience on Australian soil with clubs likle Western Sydney Wnderers and Western United.

He also made appearances for the Australian U-17, U-20 and U-23 national teams.

Hamill has faetured for a total of 164 games in his career up till now, scoring eight goals in the process.

The star defender won the AFC Champions League with Western Sydney Wanderers back in 2014, which remains his biggest win at club level.

With his signing for the 2022-23 ISL season, ATK Mohun Bagan will hope to strengthen their defence already consisting of some incredible players like Sandesh Jhingan, Tiri, Subhasish Bose and Pritam Kotal.
