An early Marie Höbinger goal was enough to see Liverpool beat Bristol City 1-0 at Ashton Gate.

The Merseyside club travelled to the West Country as they looked to claim three points over the basement-dwelling Robins.

And it took them just 13 minutes to take the lead as Marie Höbinger netted with Liverpool’s first shot of the game.

It was a brilliant effort from the edge of the area and was the difference as the two teams went into the break.

The second half saw City push for an equaliser but Liverpool held on for the victory that took them into fourth position.
