Atalanta poised to beat Everton to El Bilal Touré | OneFootball

L’Équipe report that Serie A side Atalanta are poised to beat competition from Premier League side Everton to the signing of 21-year-old Ivorian attacker El Bilal Touré.

The ex-Stade de Reims talent moved to Almeria in LaLiga in the summer of 2022, scoring 7 goals in his debut season in Spain’s 1st division.

The Toffees are understood to have submitted a formal offer to the player, but it appears that claims that Everton formally triggered his €40m release clause are wide of the mark.

Atalanta are now ahead of the competition and are willing to offer a little more than €20m to sign the player who is currently contracted to Almeria until June 2028.

Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims are due 20% in sell-on fees from any transfer that occurs for the player this summer, which is very welcome for SDR as they were forced to allow the player to depart for a minimal sum 12 months ago owing to a falling out between club and player.
