Alanna Kennedy helped Australia a 4-0 triumph over the Philippines in the Asian Cup.

The City defender completed 90 minutes, as the Matildas produced a clinical second half performance to claim their second win of the tournament.

Sam Kerr opened the scoring before a Hali Long own-goal doubled the advantage, and goals from Emily van Egmond and Mary Fowler added gloss to the scoreline.

Kennedy was unfortunate not to add her name to the scoresheet, coming close twice in the first half and seeing a headed effort well-saved at the near post by Kiara Fontanilla.

City winger Hayley Raso, who bagged a brace in the stunning 18-0 opening day win over Indonesia, was an unused substitute.

Though the first half ended goalless, once Australia had broken the deadlock, they never looked like relinquishing it and produced a thoroughly dominant display in the second 45, creating chance after chance.

Despite their pressure, they would have to settle for four goals to retain top spot in Group B with six points and a sensational goal difference of 22 from their two games!

The Matildas complete their group stage campaign against Thailand in Mumbai on Thursday 27 January at 14:00 (UK time).
