Speaking to the press on Thursday, Adi Hütter and Thiago Scuro addressed the future of Algerian international Maghnès Akliouche.

On Thursday afternoon, head coach Adi Hütter and sporting director Thiago Scuro appeared before the media to provide an update on AS Monaco’s summer preparations, as well as, quite naturally, the ongoing transfer window.

It was the perfect opportunity to thoroughly discuss the case of Maghnès Akliouche. "I've said it from the very beginning, Maghnès is a truly special player, a unique talent. He is well settled in Monaco, so there’s no pressure on anyone to make a move regarding his situation. We hope to show him that it would be in his best interest to stay at least one more season with AS Monaco. There are still two weeks left in the transfer window, so we’ll see what happens. But our ambition is to keep him with us in Monaco." declared Thiago Scuro.

This view is shared by head coach Adi Hütter: "The face of my team would be different with or without Akliouche. He’s a special player. In his movement, his decision-making... But as Thiago said, our main ambition is to keep him here at least for the coming season, because he knows what he has here at AS Monaco, he understands our style of play. He knows us, and we’re proud to have brought him to this level, to have developed him both as a player and as a person. We can be proud to have a talent like him, a product of our Academy now making his mark in the first team. We hope Maghnès stays with us."
