Paul Pogba (32) was involved in training with his AS Monaco team-mates for the first time since joining the club at the end of June, during Thursday morning’s session in La Turbie, attended by Get French Football News.

However, he was not involved in the entire session, just the warm-up. Pogba has not played a game since September 2023 due to a doping ban. That ban was initially for four years, reduced to 18 months on appeal. During that time, the Frenchman left Juventus, agreeing a contract termination, and has since joined Monaco, signing a two-year deal at the end of June.

However, he won’t be fit for the start of the season. As revealed by Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro during the player’s presentation, there is a three-month plan to build back his fitness. That puts Pogba’s return date at around the start of October.

Scuro has confirmed that the club are still working on this timeline. Speaking in a press conference, attended by GFFN, Adi Hütter provided more details about his return. “We have to be careful and protect him. Maybe in two weeks, he can be part of practice (full training session). We are looking forward to having him as fast as possible,” said the Monaco manager.
