Monaco’s Folarin Balogun a doubt to face Le Havre in Ligue 1 opener | OneFootball

AS Monaco begin their Ligue 1 campaign by hosting Le Havre AC on Saturday evening. It is not certain that Folarin Balogun will be on the team sheet for the encounter.

Balogun contended with a serious shoulder injury last season, but fought his way back to fitness before the end of the campaign. However, he could miss the start of the upcoming season. Speaking at a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Adi Hütter revealed that the USMNT striker was suffering from a very minor calf injury. He added that the medical staff would assess whether it is worth taking the risk against Le Havre.

In any case, Hütter estimates that Balogun would be 100% fit to play Lille OSC the following Sunday. Ansu Fati and Paul Pogba will also miss the match against Les Ciel et Marines as they build up their fitness, whilst Soungoutou Magassa misses out through suspension.
