Arsenal have revealed their team news ahead of the North London derby, and it’s the best news we could realistically hope for.

Arsenal report that their entire first-team squad is fit and available for selection this weekend. Mohamed Elneny has recovered from his hamstring problem, Granit Xhaka has reached the end of his suspension period, and no one else suffered a setback in midweek.

There was obviously some concern against AFC Wimbledon when the likes of Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe, and Bukayo Saka featured. Any participation from a potential derby starter is going to leave fan nerves jangling.

But they all came through it, and there was no setback for Eddie Nketiah or Rob Holding on their first starts post-injury either.

Mikel Arteta should have the freedom to select whichever players he wants this weekend, which is a rare luxury for an Arsenal manager. Of course, there’s always a risk of late illness, or getting stuck in traffic, but this is a start.

From Spurs’ side, there are no suspensions, but Ryan Sessegnon and Lucas Moura are both expected to miss the derby, and Steven Bergwijn is a major doubt as well. Heung-min Son returned from his recent calf strain last weekend, so he’s fit.

For once, Harry Kane isn’t pretending to be out of the derby with injury. He’s probably saving his theatrics for the actual match.
