Arsenal produced a hard-fought win over Manchester United to take the Premier League title race to the wire.
Scorers: Trossard 21′
Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were notable absentees for the injury-hit hosts as Erik ten Hag again deployed Casemiro at centre-back.
Rasmus Højlund spurned an early gilt-edged early chance as he skied an attempt after being sent through on goal by a Scott McTominay interception.
But the Gunners finally broke the deadlock in the 21st minute through Leandro Trossard slotting home Kai Havertz’s cutback from the righthand side.
The second half saw a renewed ascendancy from the Red Devils, whose best effort saw Alejandro Garnacho flash a shot against the side netting of David Raya’s goal.
Substitute Gabriel Martinelli offered a swift response for Mikel Arteta’s side with a close-range strike which André Onana parried over with a good one-handed save.
Arsenal moved a point ahead of Manchester City at the summit, with their nearest challengers able to retake the lead in Tuesday’s game in hand at Tottenham.
