Arsenal complete the signing of Dutch international midfielder Pelova | OneFootball

Arsenal have completed the signing of Dutch international midfielder Victoria Pelova from Azerion Vrouwen Eredivisie club Ajax.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the transfer via an official club press release from Arsenal this afternoon.

Pelova’s move to North London will see the midfielder play her football outside of her native Netherlands for the very first time. The 23-year-old started her senior playing career at ADO Den Haag in 2016 before joining latest club Ajax three years’ later. Pelova has won the KNVB Women’s Cup and Eredivisie Cup with ‘The Daughters of the Gods’.

The midfielder has gained UEFA Women’s Champions League experience with Ajax and she played in both legs of this season’s Round 2 tie against new club Arsenal.

On the international stage, Pelova has been capped by The Netherlands on 35 occasions while she has scored three goals for The Orange Lionesses.

After completing her move to Arsenal, Pelova said “I’m delighted to have signed for Arsenal. I’ve always admired this club and dreamt of following in the footsteps of some of the great Dutch players who have worn the shirt. I can’t wait to get going and start contributing to the team.”

The midfielder could make her debut for The Gunners in their upcoming Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on 15 January 2023.
