England retained the Arnold Clark Cup with an impressive 6-1 victory against Belgium, having already secured victories against South Korea and Italy.

Euro 2022 hero Chloe Kelly scored a brace, while captain Leah Williamson also hit the back of the net twice.

A tap-in from Lucy Bronze and an own goal from Julie Biesmans completed the scoring for the Lionesses.

Goalkeeper Mary Earps looked set to keep a clean sheet, but her otherwise flawless performance was tainted by a superb curling strike from Elena Dhont in the dying minutes of the match.

The Manchester United shot-stopper was visibly disappointed with conceding a goal, and was shown shaking her head in frustration by the TV cameras.

Ultimately the goal was purely a consolation for Belgium, and the England players couldn’t help teasing Earps after the full-time whistle.

How did England players tease Mary Earps for conceding?

The Belgian goal was clearly being discussed in the post-match huddle, with numerous players looking in Earps’s direction and laughing.

She was then pushed through the huddle with her head in her hands in mock shame, while her teammates patted her on the back.

Earps then went over to talk to Williamson, recreating her reaction to conceding by stamping her foot on the ground.

Keira Walsh and Katie Zelem ran over to continue teasing their goalkeeper, before Georgia Stanway also stamped the ground to mock Earps’s reaction.

Fortunately, Earps seemed to take everything in good humour, laughing along with her teammates.

In fairness, Dhont’s goal was almost unstoppable, and few goalkeepers would have been able to stop the brilliant strike.

What is the Arnold Clark Cup?

Formed of four teams, the Arnold Clark Cup is an invitational football tournament hosted by England.

The Lionesses won the first edition in 2022, and retained their title after scoring 12 goals and conceding just two across the three matches this year.

Kelly earned the Golden Boot accolade, while Chelsea star Lauren James was named Player of the Tournament.

It is England’s third trophy in 12 months after Sarina Wiegman, and the side are now undefeated in 29 matches.

This all bodes well for the Women’s World Cup, which runs from July 20th to August 20th in Australia and New Zealand.
