Arne Slot has a major question for Liverpool's new signings. And some praise for outgoing star Luis Diaz.
Arne Slot had a remarkable debut season in charge of Liverpool. The Dutchman oversaw a title-winning campaign that no one saw coming.
It was supposed to be a transitional season, after all. Liverpool didn't even really buy anyone for Slot - only Federico Chiesa, brought in so he'd have six senior forwards.

The 2024/25 campaign was instead for Slot to learn about his players, figure out who could do what, and see how they'd fit into his plans. The fact that Liverpool also won the Premier League is just ridiculous, quite honestly.
That success has brought about a massive summer in which Liverpool are moving on from those players who don't quite click under Slot. New stars have come in, virtually all of them for big money.
But Slot understandably has a question for those new arrivals. The learning process begins again.
“The players we’ve brought in have done really well already, as expected," Slot told a press conference on Friday.
"But I cannot tell you now if these players are able to perform at the same level every three days; we first have to start the season.
"And I did know Luis Díaz was able to do that, and all the other ones were able to do that. So that is another challenge, because we play so many games.”
This is the problem with transfers and the reason why most of them fail to live up to expectations. Yes, you can do all your due diligence before signing someone but ultimately, you never know how they'll adapt.
